The terrain is very alpine on the way in from Tioga.
The landscape is so different from all the places we've been previously.
Half Dome. Hopefully one day we can do the hike to the top.
These old buildings were moved out from Yosemite Valley and other parts of the park to restore natural environments.
Getting to Yosemite involved driving through Tioga pass through the Sierra Nevada mountains and the wet weather we'd had in Tahoe had make it pretty snowy at the top of the pass. The uphill part of the drive was very windy which made things a little scary.
We had what was probably our coldest night in the RV with temperatures just above freezing. The evening and night were no problem, but trying to get out of bed the next day was tough.
Yosemite is busy all year round and we were only able to stay in the park for one night, with the second night being at a motel a short distance outside the park.
Somehow this was my fourth visit to Yosemite and it never gets old. While it was busy it wasn't anywhere near as bad as Zion was. We kept our eyes peeled for bears but had no luck this time.
